The Music Of The Band Heart - 2204 Words

I imagine this doesn t apply to everyone, as each person is different and I know some people don t listen to music (Gasp!). But in general, it seems as if music has the ability to move us. I ve thought about this quite a bit, but the video of the band Heart’s live cover of Led Zeppelin’s â€Å"Stairway to Heaven† really made me wonder (pun not intended. Seriously, though, if you haven’t seen it, it’s nothing short of mind-blowing; one of the best â€Å"Stairway† covers in a long time). I enjoy listening to almost every kind of music, but my personal favorite has to be classic, golden-age rock and roll (1960s through 1980s, with some songs from other decades scattered throughout). I know some people who will roll their eyes and mentally groan, â€Å"I know!†, at me bringing up my three favorite bands again (for the record, they’re 1) Queen, 2) Alice Cooper, 3) Aerosmith; not in order of preference, but the order of when I got into them) but I don’t let it get to me. (If I do, that’s what my music binges are for). To me, they never stop sounding amazing. Anyways, when I listen to it, it seems to control my emotions. I have a chemical and physical response to the music. I know this happens with a lot of people. Why do we seem to have such a powerful connection with music?
